PROF ARİF ZİYA TUNÇ

1953 Elazığ doğumlu olan sanatçı, 1974’de  Ankara, G.E.E. Resim-İş Bölümünden mezun oldu. Akademik kariyerini Dokuz Eylül Üniversitesi, GSF’ de Sanat Doktorası yaparak tamamladı. 2006’da Doçent, 2011’de  Profesör oldu.

Şimdiye kadar 14 kişisel  sergi gerçekleştirdi. Yarışmalı Devlet ve Özel Sergilere ve Uluslararası Baskıresim Bienallerine katıldı. İki kez Devlet Yarışmalı Sergi Başarı Ödülü kazandı. Fotoğrafla çok küçük yaşlarda tanıştı ve hiç kopmadı. Üniversitede fotoğrafın yanı sıra, “Grafik Tasarım Eğitimi” almasının etkileri, onun sanatsal ifade aracı olarak seçtiği  fotoğraflarında görülür. Sanatçı, 2000 yılından beri dijital ortamda çalışmalarını sürdürmekte; ancak bu dijital ortamın fotoğrafın özünü bozmaması gerektiğine inanmaktadır. Hakemli ve süreli dergilerde fotoğrafla ilgili makaleleri yayınlanmıştır.  Ayrıca, pek çok fotoğraf sunusu ve fotoğraf üzerine söyleşisi gerçekleştirmiştir.

Sanatçı, İzmir’ de yaşamakta ve Dokuz Eylül Üniversitesi, Buca Eğitim Fakültesi, Güzel Sanatlar  Eğitimi Bölümü’nde Grafik Tasarım ve Fotoğraf derslerini yönetmektedir.

The artist who was born in Elazig/Turkiye in 1953 and graduated from GEE (Gazi Educational Institute), Ankara in 1974. He did his Ph.D. at Dokuz Eylul University Faculty of Fine Arts and became a Assoc. Prof. in 2006 and Professor in 2011.

He has had many different solo Printmaking and Photography exhibitions up to the present. Prof. Dr. Tunc  has attended lots of state and institutional competitions and international print biennials. Tunç has won two awards at the State Printmaking Competition Exhibition.

He met the photography at his early ages and has not left the photography.

He attanded Graphic Design Classes beside photography at the university and the effects of those classes are obvious on his photographs which are his artistic expression medium.The artist continues his photographs at digital environment since 2000 and believes that the digitization should not effect the essence of the photography.

His articles about phoptography have been published at peer-reviewed journals and periodical publications. He exhibited many presentations and joined the conversations about photography.

Artist who lives in Izmir/Turkiye is conducting Graphic Design and Photography courses at Dokuz Eylul University, Buca Faculty of Education, Department of Fine Arts Education
